Symbolism
Life and Loss is a still life of roses that were given to a mother after the miscarriage of a child.
This painting symbolizes the dream and hope for the birth of her child as is shown in the progression of the full rose to the end of the child’s life; symbolized by the tiny petal that is resting in gentle silence.
About
Life and Loss was created using a combination of the Flemish and Venetian oil painting methods.
