Kellan - Shards of Time

Kellan - Shards of Time is a partial life history painting of my son. He is shown practicing as a black belt in Haedong Kumdo; Korean sword fighting. The two shadow figures are his creation for the cover of a poetry book he wrote as part of his English major in college. The main figure shows him as an adult, working in Japan.

His love of Japan is shown with his immersion in Forest Spider Lilies blanketing a forest that he visited. These and the bright blue slashes symbolize his love of video games and all things anime.
